INTERACTIVE DESIGN SYSTEM OVERVIEW
This presentation introduces my original real-time interactive design system, developed to streamline and simplify the design process for users of all skill levels.
Built in Unreal Engine 5, the system is engineered to eliminate the technical barriers typically associated with traditional industry tools, allowing users to design quickly, intuitively, and with confidence.
A key highlight of this system is its real-time rendering capabilities, including dynamic physical lighting and accurate reflections, providing an immediate visual representation of design changes.
Packed with powerful features, the system delivers a seamless and immersive user experience.
ADJUSTMENT FEATURES
The Designer system offers simple, intuitive controls for fine-tuning. Users can easily move elements to the desired position and apply rotation adjustments with precision, ensuring smooth customization and flexibility.
REALTIME LAYOUT AND DESIGN
Enables rapid layout creation and visual expression of ideas, allowing users to design and adjust concepts instantly with real-time feedback.
VIRTUAL REALITY
After developing your scenes you can visualize in virtual reality. Experience depth and spatiality, examine details you would otherwise miss. Simple to use and almost instant results
MATERIAL EDITING FEATURES
Real-time material editing with high-quality, realistic effects and access to a large, easily updatable material library.
ASSET EDITING / ASSET LIBRARY
Provides a large library of assets for quick placement through simple selection and insertion. New assets can be added to the packaged game by the developer, making it easy to expand the library when needed.
CAMERA / VIEW EDITING FEATURES
Provides multiple navigation and visualization modes, including first-person walkthrough and orbit (dollhouse) view. The system includes depth of focus adjustment, snap focus, and zoom tools, all with simple controls that make it easy for users to move around, explore, and clearly understand their designs.
REALTIME LIGHTING & RENDERING FEATURES
The system delivers a fully dynamic lighting system with an editable 24-hour cycle and rotational control for accurate sun and shadow simulation. Features include adjustable cloud density, volumetric fog effects, exposure parameters, and interactive light switches placed both within the level and on individual assets, creating natural and realistic visuals that adapt to different environments.
PROJECT SAVING / LOADING FEATURES
Allows projects to be saved as reloadable external files, with in-game save locations and tools to load and compare layouts. The system delivers very fast save, load, and reload speeds, ensuring efficient project management and smooth iteration.
PROJECT UNDO AND REDO FEATURES
Provides many levels of undo and redo, retaining asset type, position, and material states for reliable revision control
